What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cemetery Maintenance Superintendent position at The Homewood Cemetery?
Candidate would be responsible for ensuring daily maintenance operations at one of Pittsburgh's premier Historic Cemeteries are performed in a professional, safe and efficient manner. Organizational skills and attention to detail are paramount. You will be required to achieve daily, weekly and long term goals while dealing with changing schedules due to the nature of the business.
Management duties include, but not be limited to:
-Schedule daily assignments for the maintenance crew.
-Assist in training and supervising maintenance crew.
-Interacting with Administration and Sales Staff, ensuring the satisfaction of the families we serve.
-Scheduling the maintenance and repair of vehicles, equipment and tools.
-Scheduling weekly, monthly and yearly maintenance/inspections of facility building HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
-Ensuring that workplace policies and procedures are implemented.
-Ensuring accuracy of records and proposed graves/memorial locations.
Cemetery experience is preferred but not necessary. Candidates with construction, property management, landscaping or military backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and carry 25 feet.
Must have current driver’s license; CDL not required but is a plus.
Job requires standing for long periods of time and exposure to all types of weather.
Knowledge of small engine, electrical or plumbing repairs preferred.
