Qualifications
- Some high school coursework required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred, preferably in a hospitality setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean resident apartments, guest apartments, common areas, bathrooms, hallways, offices, stairways, and public spaces according to established standards.
- Prepare guest apartments and replenish supplies including soap, tissue, and toilet paper
- Sweep, mop, strip, buff, wax, and polish floors using manual and mechanical cleaning equipment.
- Perform deep cleaning of apartments and rooms following resident move-outs.
- Dust furniture, fixtures, vents, windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
- Operate housekeeping equipment including vacuums, floor scrubbers, polishers, and carpet cleaning machines safely and effectively.
- Shampoo carpets and upholstered furniture as assigned.
- Remove trash, soiled linens, and waste materials and dispose of them according to facility procedures.
- Move furniture and equipment as necessary to complete cleaning assignments safely.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, fixtures, mirrors, doors, and high-touch surfaces using approved cleaning products and infection prevention practices.
- Perform laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, sorting, and transporting linens and personal laundry items.
- Maintain inventory of housekeeping and laundry supplies and report supply needs to administration.
- Ensure hazardous and flammable cleaning products are properly labeled, stored, and handled according to safety standards and MSDS requirements.
- Follow universal precautions, OSHA regulations, infection prevention protocols, fire safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions, and safety hazards promptly.
- Demonstrate positive interactions with residents, families, visitors, physicians, and coworkers to promote excellent customer service.
- Support teamwork and collaborate with all departments to promote quality resident care and facility operations.
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to facility dress code standards.
- Participate in scheduled meetings, continuing education, and department training.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area compliant with infection control standards
- Adhere to all Share Medical Center/Homestead policy and procedure, available for duty in the event of a disaster, completes all required educational training and performs other job duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally, with assistance if needed.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and reaching while performing tasks.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate tools, equipment, and documentation.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to cleaning agents, temperature changes, and facility noise.
- Ability to move quickly and safely throughout the facility to respond to operational needs.
