Experienced furniture store manager

Duties

• Lead and supervise all store activities, including sales, merchandising, inventory control, and customer service.
• Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members while providing ongoing training and development to enhance their skills.
• Manage employee schedules, payroll processing, and shift management to ensure optimal coverage and operational efficiency.
• Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, purchasing decisions, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability.
• Utilize POS systems for sales transactions, cash handling, and sales reporting while maintaining accurate bookkeeping records.
• Implement effective marketing initiatives to attract customers and promote store promotions or new product lines.
• Foster a positive team environment through strong communication skills, leadership, and employee orientation efforts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in retail management with supervisory or assistant manager roles preferred.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, POS technology, and retail math principles.
• Excellent negotiation skills combined with effective communication abilities in multiple languages; bilingual skills are highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability in recruiting, training, supervising staff, and managing payroll processes.
• Skilled in merchandising, pricing strategies, and store presentation to enhance customer experience.
• Experience with budgeting, sales management, marketing initiatives, and financial recordkeeping such as bookkeeping.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
