Commercial Deposit Specialist
Overview:
Our client, a reputable financial institution, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Commercial Deposit Specialist to join their team. This pivotal role involves managing the onboarding and maintenance of commercial deposit accounts, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while providing exceptional support to internal partners and clients. Compensation:
$35.00-40.00 per hour (temporary rate) / $70,000 – $80,000 annually (permanent rate, negotiable up to $90,000 based on experience)
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the onboarding process for commercial deposit accounts by preparing and verifying documentation, including resolutions, signature cards, and ownership forms.
- Coordinate with clients to gather required signatures and clarify documentation needs, maintaining seamless communication throughout the process.
- Assess submissions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with legal and product specifications.
- Establish customer, signer, and account records within the banking systems, adhering to defined policies and procedures.
- Monitor the progress of onboarding requests from initiation through successful activation, updating tracking systems with precision.
- Collaborate with deposit operations, treasury management teams, and relationship managers to address documentation discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Identify recurring process challenges and propose enhancements to improve controls, efficiency, and customer experience.
- Support ongoing system upgrades and process improvements related to commercial deposit services.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in commercial deposit onboarding, treasury services, or deposit operations.
- Strong understanding of legal entity structures, including complex ownership and disregarded entities.
- Familiarity with treasury management functions such as wire transfers, ACH, and online banking.
- Knowledge of compliance procedures including CIP, KYC, CDD, and beneficial ownership requirements.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple requests and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with clients.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and narrative development.
