Position Purpose

Assists licensed nursing staff by administering daily medications as ordered by the physician in accordance with established nursing standards, facility policies and procedures and state requirements.

Essential Duties:

  • Accurately administer medications following the 5 rights, using our electronic MAR.
  • Administer insulin and perform blood glucose checks under the supervision of the facility nurse.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and promptly order medications.
  • Conduct narcotic counts and provide thorough shift reports.
  • Foster open communication with the facility nurse, RCC, and care staff.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents.
  • Participate in ongoing monthly education.
  • Regular and Predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months of medication administration experience
  • Demonstrated ability to take basic vital signs
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic MAR systems
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
