Position Purpose | Assists licensed nursing staff by administering daily medications as ordered by the physician in accordance with established nursing standards, facility policies and procedures and state requirements. |
Essential Duties:
- Accurately administer medications following the 5 rights, using our electronic MAR.
- Administer insulin and perform blood glucose checks under the supervision of the facility nurse.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and promptly order medications.
- Conduct narcotic counts and provide thorough shift reports.
- Foster open communication with the facility nurse, RCC, and care staff.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents.
- Participate in ongoing monthly education.
- Regular and Predictable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 months of medication administration experience
- Demonstrated ability to take basic vital signs
- Proficiency in navigating electronic MAR systems
- Excellent multi-tasking skills
