We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Deli Clerk to join our team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve deli products such as meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches according to company standards
- Operate POS systems including POS for transactions
- Assist customers with selections, answer questions, and provide exceptional customer service
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, adhering to food safety standards
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure product freshness
- Upsell products to increase sales and enhance customer experience
- Follow food handling procedures, including proper sanitation and food safety practices
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, packaging, and portioning deli items
- Support other store departments as needed, including bussing tables or assisting in the café or grocery sections
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse customers
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and quick calculations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures
- Ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in sales techniques including upselling to maximize sales opportunities
- Previous experience in grocery stores, cafés, or quick service & fast-food restaurants is advantageous
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food handling and presentation
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining a positive attitude
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 25.0 per week
