ABOUT THE ROLE
The Hitter’s Edge is an independent baseball and softball training facility in Whitehall, PA and we’re building something new. We’re launching a full daytime programming model for children ages 0–6, designed for families who are looking for structured, enriching activities in a fun, sports-inspired environment.
We’re looking for an energetic, nurturing, and organized Early Childhood Program Lead to bring these classes to life. You’ll be the face of our daytime program leading classes, building relationships with families, and helping shape a community that keeps coming back week after week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Lead and facilitate a variety of weekly classes including:
- Story and Play — themed read-alouds followed by imaginative movement and play
- Music and Motion — rhythm, movement, and instruments for ages 0–6
- Craft Corner — structured arts and crafts with seasonal themed projects
- Mini MVP (Mom and Me) — structured parent-and-child movement class
- Supervised play sessions while parents use the facility workout area
In addition to leading classes, you will:
- Set up and break down class materials, props, and activity stations
- Incorporate the parachute and other equipment into class activities
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for young children
- Engage warmly with parents and caregivers before and after sessions
- Assist with class scheduling, attendance tracking, and supply needs
- Support special events, birthday party packages, and pop-up sessions as needed
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Background in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, or a related field
- Experience working directly with children ages 0–6 in a structured setting (classroom, daycare, camp, studio, etc.)
- Comfortable taking charge of a room confident leading groups of children and managing energy
- Warm, patient, and genuinely enthusiastic about working with young kids and their families
- Reliable, punctual, and organized
Preferred:
- Degree or coursework in early childhood education, child development, or elementary education
- Experience in a creative class setting such as music, art, movement, or literacy programs
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain)
- Comfort with light physical activity this is a hands-on, on-your-feet role
SCHEDULE AND HOURS
This is a part-time position. Typical hours are weekday mornings, with some weekend availability required for Saturday programming and special events.
Weekday hours: Monday through Friday, approximately 8:45am – 12:30pm (varies by day)
Weekend hours: Saturdays as scheduled primarily for Tee Ball and special events.
