Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Middle School History Teacher to join our team at a Dayschool located in Hancock Park. As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction to middle school students, fostering their understanding and appreciation of historical events and concepts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in teaching middle school humanities and a passion for imparting knowledge to young minds.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards.

2. Teach and evaluate students' understanding of historical events, cultures, and concepts.

3. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes kindness, open-mindedness, and respect among students.

4. Utilize various teaching strategies, resources, and technology to enhance student learning and engagement.

5. Provide constructive feedback and assessments to students, helping them track their progress and address areas for improvement.

6. Foster a collaborative partnership with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about students' academic performance and development.

7. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and other relevant student information.

8. Participate in professional development activities and stay updated with current educational trends and best practices.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Education, History, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

2. Valid teaching certification/license.

3. Previous experience teaching middle school humanities, with a focus on history.

4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

5. Ability to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

6. Proficiency in using educational technology and resources to enhance instruction.

7. Demonstrated commitment to kindness, open-mindedness, and respect.
