TOURING WARDROBE SUPERVISOR
The Hip Hop Nutcracker — National Tour
About the Role
MEP — the producing and general management company behind The Hip Hop Nutcracker — is seeking a touring Wardrobe Supervisor for the show's upcoming national tour. This position leads the wardrobe department on the road and serves as the costume point person for each venue.
This position reports to the Production Manager, Company Manager, PSM
Key Responsibilities
*Travel with the company on all tour engagements; coordinate with venue wardrobe staff at each stop
*Pull, organize, label, and prepare costumes for performances, including distribution and travel prep
*Provide costume support during performances, including quick changes and emergency repairs
*Supervise local wardrobe staff and overhires as needed
*Manage departmental budget, purchasing, and expense/reimbursement tracking
*Maintain costume paperwork, including tracking, inventories, run sheets, care instructions, and archival records
*Oversee costume maintenance, repairs, cleaning (including professional cleaning), and preservation
Qualifications
*Theatrical touring experience required
*Experience supervising local crews, including IATSE house crews
*Proficiency in domestic sewing, serging, and hand sewing, as well as estimating and cutting fabric
*Physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work long, irregular hours including nights and weekends while touring
*Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and across diverse communities
Compensation & Logistics
*Pay: $1,200/week
*Housing: Provided for the duration of the tour
*Per diem: $75/day
*Pre-tour prep: Begins the week of October 26, 2026 (approx. two weeks prior to first performance)
*Tour dates: November 8, 2026 – January 3, 2027 (approximately 21 cities)
