Banquet Captain
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Banquet Captain to lead our banquet team and ensure exceptional service during events. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organized, and possess strong leadership skills to manage staff and coordinate banquet operations efficiently.
This is a part-time position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned)
- Assisting with planning and organizing of all banquet functions. Communicating relevant information and expectations to team members prior to events.
- Able to interpret and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) accurately - including menu details, room setups, timeline pacing, and any special dietary needs
- Supervising set-up, execution and clean-up of all banquet functions. Ensuring all events are executed consistently and in accordance with the BEO and company standards.
- Skilled in directing, coaching, and delegating tasks to staff.
- Greeting clients in charge and responding to client requests.
- In-depth knowledge of plated and buffet style service along with beverage/bar operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Two or more years of related experience in a high-volume banquet setting is required.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
- Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
- Constantly moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.
- Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Constantly adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
- Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.
- Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Occasionally performing sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
- Constantly performing light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
- Constantly performing medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally performing heavy work that includes moving objects up to 100 pounds or more.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Occasionally exposed to cold temperatures (i.e. walk-in coolers and freezers).
- Occasionally exposed to high temperatures (i.e. kitchens and prep areas).
- Constantly exposed to noisy environments (i.e. music and noise from wedding receptions).
- Occasionally exposed to small and/or enclosed spaces.
SCHEDULE
- Schedule varies based on event schedules.
- Primarily works evenings and weekend hours.
COMPENSATION
- $11.00 per hour base pay plus tips.
- $500 bonus after your first 90 days.
