Duties
- Design and deliver specialized instructional plans tailored to each student's unique language-based learning needs.
- Use evidence-based, multisensory techniques to build reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Collaborate with specialists and support staff to deliver comprehensive intervention programs.
- Leverage assistive technology and adaptive tools to deepen and personalize learning experiences.
- Regularly assess student progress and provide individualized feedback to students and families.
- Foster a nurturing classroom culture that promotes self-advocacy, inclusion, and student growth.
- Stay current on research and best practices; actively pursue ongoing professional development.
- Adhere to school policies to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
Requirements - Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification or the ability to obtain certification.
Prefered -Specialized Training
- Specialization or additional training in language-based learning differences is highly preferred: LETRS Training, Orton-Gillingham Certification, EBLI, or Wilson Reading System
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience working with students with language-based learning differences in a school setting.
- In-depth knowledge of language development, literacy instruction, and evidence-based interventions.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Proficiency with assistive technology and adaptive learning tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Genuine dedication to ongoing professional development in learning differences.
