Title: Quality Technician – Drive Train Division
The Quality Technician shall be responsible for ensuring proper testing, inspection, and auditing products at various stages of the production process to maintain Hilliard’s quality standards and maximize customer satisfaction.
The duties shall include but not be limited to the following:
- Works with teams to identify root causes and develop/implement effective permanent corrective actions to address product/process quality issues.
- Works with stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality & safety standards.
- Participates in cross-functional teams responsible for the development of new products and processes required to exceed customer expectations.
- Assist auditors in resolving issues with quality functions and inspections.
- Initiate and investigate root causes of NCRs when deemed necessary.
- Measure and record dimensions as required.
- Completing and recording First Article Inspections.
- Support calibration and CMM operations
Requirements:
- AS Degree in a technical / engineering related field or equivalent experience.
- Accepts direction and projects from Quality Manager.
- Demonstrate efficiency in utilizing common measuring equipment such as but not limited to optical comparator, CMM, surface plates, gage blocks, pin gages, calipers, micrometers, thread gages, height gages, and indicators
- Knowledge of and experience in operating / programing of CMM (PC-DMIS preferred)
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite and Infor is a plus
- Must know the basic problem-solving tools and techniques, such as fish bones and PDCA.
- Fosters cooperative and open communication will all personnel and departments.
- Be able to work effectively in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
- Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001); experience with APQP, PPAP and DFMEA/PFMEA development a plus.
- Demonstrates strong knowledge / application of quality and continuous improvement tools.
- Demonstrates the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings, knowledge of ASME Y14.5M/ GD&T standards.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Salary : $49,600 - $62,000
