Cheerleading Coach – Private Catholic School

Position Summary
The Highlands School is seeking a dedicated and energetic Cheerleading Coach to lead and develop our cheer program in a manner consistent with the mission and values of Catholic education. The coach will be responsible for building school spirit, teaching fundamentals, promoting teamwork, and serving as a positive role model for student-athletes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and lead cheer practices, games, and events
- Teach proper cheer techniques, motions, jumps, chants, and (if applicable) stunts with a strong emphasis on safety
- Foster school spirit and positive sportsmanship at all athletic events
- Model and reinforce Catholic values, character, and respect
- Maintain clear communication with athletes, parents, and administration
- Ensure compliance with school, league, and diocesan policies
- Supervise students during practices, games, and performances
Qualifications
- Prior cheerleading and/or coaching experience preferred
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to work well with students in a faith-based environment
- Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Catholic education
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Background check required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coaching youth or school-based cheer programs
- Knowledge of competition cheer rules (if applicable)
Compensation
- Stipend commensurate with experience
