We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. We are the Highland Restaurant & Bar in Glenside PA. Our restaurant Group K To Z Collective including West Ave Grille, Pizza Wheel & Taco Kidz Food Truck. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and kitchen management, with experience in fine dining and catering. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in menu planning, overseeing kitchen operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including staff supervision and training.
- Collaborate on menu planning, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance while adhering to dietary guidelines.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of taste, quality, and presentation.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
- Coordinate banquet services and special events, ensuring timely execution of all culinary offerings.
- Foster a positive team atmosphere by mentoring junior kitchen staff and promoting collaboration.
Experience
- Previous experience in a culinary role, preferably as a Sous Chef or in a similar position within fine dining or catering environments.
- Strong knowledge of menu planning, food service operations, and kitchen management practices.
- Experience working in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting with an emphasis on high-quality food preparation.
- Familiarity with dietary department guidelines is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
