Summary

This role supports the General Manager in overseeing daily store operations and ensuring excellence across all departments—including retail, inventory, delivery, marketing, and community. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a passion for helping teams thrive. The Assistant Manager ideally has worked in a dispensary previously with knowledge of METRC, POS System, leading a sales team, elevated customer experience and knowledge of compliance. This position will work alongside the Dispensary manager in leading the staff in all aspects of the operation for The High Way.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting the General Manager with Day-to-Day operations including in-store and delivery.
• Uphold company policies, procedures, and cannabis regulatory standards.Teach procedures to new hires.
• Perform inventory control actions such as receiving, counting and inspecting for quality and compliance. Utilize software such as POS and METRC for inventory control as well as reports.
• Supervise inventory replenishment from storage to sales floor. Verify compliance of third party products sold in stores.
• Assist leadership in developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue and growth.
• Perform store opening and closing procedures, including completing and reviewing AM/PM checklists and all SOPs.
• Assist in retail scheduling and delivery route optimization.Including forecast of payroll, payroll auditing, and labor optimization.
• Work with General Manager and Dispensary Manager to Conduct investigations: respond to all issues pertaining to employees including local, state and federal compliance policies.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with both team members and customers.Including documentation of customer complaints and communicating them to leadership.
• Analyze data, and make recommendations to the leadership team for corrective action and continuous improvement for customer service and policies.
• Maintain and lead in-store retail experience including, instorage signage, customer onboarding, product placement, vendor events, supplies reordering, and facility maintenance.
• Be a company liaison to community members, vendors, and local/state government officials.
• Responsible for assisting marketing duties as assigned by the General Manager.
• Oversee cash handling procedures, reconcile registers, and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand or walk for long periods.
• Requires frequent bending, reaching, lifting (up to 30 lbs), and other physical tasks.
• May work with cleaning products and other store-related materials.
• Must be able to drive for delivery orders and operational errands

Requirements

• Must be 21 or older
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have Drivers License
• Must have 1 year of experience in METRC for California retail operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
