Located at High Transit in Lancaster, PA.
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing, welding, maintaining and repairing a variety of road, industrial, and construction equipment.
This position will support our 3rd Shift team working Sunday-Thursday working from 9:00PM-6:30AM.
Starting at $25 an hour and can increase based on previous relevant experience and years of experience.
Plus as a third shift coworker, you will receive a 25% shift differential on top of your hourly rate.
Responsibilities of our fleet technicians include:
- Must perform local, state, and federal inspections on all types of equipment
- Perform repairs to Peterbilt's, flatbed trailers, Over-head Cranes, Forklifts and other material handling and heavy equipment
- Ability to perform brake reconditioning, suspension repairs, replacement of seals, alternators, starters, clutch, transmission and other general repairs for Class 1 to Class 8 vehicles.
- Perform repairs to tractor electronics
- Complete welding repairs
- Candidate may be required to perform road service a few times a year
- May work in outdoor elements at times
Our ideal candidate will posses the following education and work requirements:
- 1-5 years of experience as a fleet maintenance mechanic or entry level through related co-op programs.
- A valid Class 7 State Inspection and Emissions license is preferred, we are willing to train candidates without this license in order to obtain it
- General welding experience preferred, or willing to obtain the training through our own High Steel University Welding class.
- ASE Certifications and Refrigeration license a plus
- The ability to work in both a team and independent environment, making decisions without the assistance of supervision
- Driver's License required
