We are building one of the most modern and data-driven fleet organizations in North America, and this week we are launching a completely new strategic role.
We are introducing Product Line Directors (PLDs) — senior leaders who will own the full economics and performance of major OEM portfolios. Each PLD will oversee a portion of Hertz 400,000- 500,000 vehicle U.S. fleet with full accountability across buy, hold, and sell decisions and execution.
You will be the company expert on the car models produced by your OEMs including understanding production volumes, inventories, trim, competitive position and residual value outlooks.
Think of it as being the CEO of your product line:
• Full economic ownership
• Strategic decision-making at scale
• Direct responsibility for collaboration and partnership with our OEMs
• Acting as a true business counterpart to OEM leadership teams
This is a major shift from traditional fleet procurement to an ownership-driven, partnership-driven model where collaboration with OEMs becomes a core part of our long-term strategy. The PLD role connects value, economics, and relationship leadership into one seat.
