Accountabilities:
- Leadership of micro lab day-to-day activities, priority setting, coaching and development of technician to drive proficiency.
- Ensure proficiency, reliability, accuracy and speed of micro lab analysis by maintaining efficient lab operations and quality management system.
- Oversee internal/external lab standards, proficiency programs, and ISO-17025 audits. Provide guidance and support for branch micro labs within the network.
- Coordinate completion and shipment of samples to 3rd party lab when needed.
- Conduct microbiological risk assessments for new ingredients and serve as Micro SME for ingredient micro approval and R&D support.
- Promote company culture and coach staff. Align lab activities with business goals.
- Full-time onsite at Hershey PA.
- A robust working technical knowledge of food microbiology and food science processes and micro lab instrumentation.
- Management experience in ISO 17025 micro labs.
- B.S. in Food Microbiology, Food Science, or related science field.
- 3 years of microbiology laboratory management experience.
