Duties
- Assist with food preparation including chopping, mixing, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals according to menu specifications
- Support cooking activities by following recipes and ensuring proper food handling techniques are adhered to
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste appropriately
- Help with meal assembly and serving to ensure timely delivery of hot and cold dishes
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for upcoming meals or catering events
- Support catering functions by preparing and serving food at special events or group gatherings
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is essential
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as knives, mixers, ovens, and sanitation tools is beneficial
- Experience in meal preparation for large groups or catering environments is a plus
- Strong understanding of the food industry practices related to hygiene, safety, and quality control
- Prior kitchen experience demonstrating culinary skills like knife proficiency and ingredient management will set candidates apart
