The Total Rewards team is responsible for compensation, benefits and well-being strategy for The Heritage Group family of companies. As a Total Rewards Intern and part of the Human Resources team, you will contribute to benefits and well-being projects, initiatives, and processes. You will have the opportunity to apply and expand your knowledge to assist with real business challenges, connect and build relationships with leaders and colleagues, and enhance skills that are transferable to any professional setting.
Essential Functions
The Heritage Group Internship Program provides hands-on, paid experiences in a corporate function or within one of our many operating companies. Interns can expect to network with other students and professionals, gain useful skills, receive mentoring, and make their own contributions to the organization. Additionally, interns can participate in our weekly hosted events focused on professional development, team building, and community service.
Intern pay is non-negotiable and is calculated based on current academic class standing $17/hour (Freshman) - $20/hour (Senior), etc.

Essential Functions
- Assist with Total Rewards communications and portal content.
- Assist with well-being programming and events.
- Assist with benefit benchmarking and survey completion.
- Analyze total rewards data and develop reports to support decision-making.
- Use project management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and colleagues across the business.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
- Required High School or Equivalent
- Preferred Bachelor's Degree : Junior or Senior in College who is actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in human resources, benefits, finance, health/well-being or related fields.
- Experience with MS Office with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong data analysis and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well independently and with minimal supervision.
- Self-motivated, with demonstrated high level of responsibility and professionalism.
- Ability to exercise discretion with confidential data.
- Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items and walk short distances.
