Job Responsibilities
- Assists the Dietary/Food Services Manager and Registered Dietician in overseeing the food and nutrition service program and assessing food preferences and nutritional needs of residents
- Assists Sous Chef and culinary team with delivering high quality and nutritious meals to the residents
- Assists in supervision of health center food and nutrition staff
- Schedules work assignments and cleaning schedules for food and nutrition staff and ensures that all standards are met
- In conjunction with or in absence of the Dietary/Food Services Manager, supervises the physical appearance and ambience of dining rooms and server stations, including table settings and arrangements, floors, drapes, and lighting
- Ensures accuracy of daily meal counts
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience in food and nutrition service operations in a healthcare setting preferred
- Associate degree in dietary and nutrition preferred
- ServSafe™ certification preferred
- Ability to explain menus, answer questions, respond to requests, and coordinate meal service process
- Communicates effectively with all levels, including food & nutrition team, dietician, nursing staff, culinary team, other departments, and residents
