Classification Minimum Requirements

Assistant Professor: Candidates for this rank shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess equivalent qualifications based on professional experience. A candidate shall be expected to demonstrate successful experience pertinent to the position they are being recommended and have demonstrated qualities relevant to the goals of the academic unit in which they will be employed.

Associate Professor: Candidates for this rank shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess professional qualifications above those equivalent to the highest degree relevant to their field. They are expected to have produced creative work, professional writing, or research and successful teaching or professional experience. A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the assistant professor level.

Full Professor: Candidates for this faculty rank shall be qualified for the rank of associate professor and, in addition, be a recognized national or international authority or an outstanding teacher in their field or specialization. A candidate for this rank must have a distinguished record of achievement beyond the associate professor level.

Job Description

The University of Florida College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy invited applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (Tenure Track.

Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. degree or similar academic training in pharmacoepidemiology, pharmacoeconomics, pharmaceutical health services research or related fields. Appointment requires demonstration of or potential for an extramurally-funded research program, scholarship, and teaching proficiency that is consistent with appointment to these ranks at a research-intensive university. The successful candidate will join one of the largest departments in pharmaceutical outcomes and policy fields in the country, and engage in productive interdisciplinary research, provide high-quality teaching in the College’s professional and graduate programs, and participate in service activities at various levels.

The UF College of Pharmacy (https://pharmacy.ufl.edu) ranks among the top five colleges of pharmacy in the nation and is located at the main Gainesville campus of the University of Florida, the flagship AAU institution of the State of Florida. The College is based in one of the largest integrated academic health centers in the country, with Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Public Health and Health Professions, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as UF Health and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, situated on a campus serving over 50,000 students. The growing department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy ( https://pop.pharmacy.ufl.edu/ ) consists of 17 faculty. It has a well-recognized residential graduate program with 40 residential PhD and MS students as well as an online MS program ( https://onlinepop.pharmacy.ufl.edu/) . The department’s research infrastructure is supported by the Center for Drug Evaluation and Safety (CoDES ( https://codes.pharmacy.ufl.edu/ ), which facilitates research collaborations in real-world populations using a variety of big data sources.
