HJF is seeking a Program Manager I - Women's Health Evidence Map who will oversee a collection of related/integrated projects that together support a long-term research initiative. This position strategically guides one or more project managers and related technical staff to ensure they are all working effectively toward the program’s stated objectives.
This position will be in support of the USU Military Women’s Health Research Program Evidence Map Project. The Leveraging Evidence to Advance the Health of Military Women project’s goals are to create a comprehensive evidence map of Active-Duty Service Women (ADSW) health literature since 2015.

Responsibilities
- Serve as main point of contact and liaison between internal and external stakeholders (i.e. Principal Investigators, Program Sponsors, organizational leadership and project management teams). Establish and maintain effective working relationships on matters of mutual interest. Track and report on progress and outcomes.
- Manage key program elements, including but not limited to goals and milestones, risks, available resources, budgets, standard operating procedures, quality control, and results. Identify project interdependencies, aligning resources and efforts where appropriate.
- Supervise, advise and guide Project Managers and technical staff throughout the program lifecycle, focusing on the strategic direction of the projects. Takes corrective action as needed.
- Support and participate in planning, creation and submission of proposals and agreements as requested.
- Direct Supervisor: Direct authority to make decisions on the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, starting salaries and merit increases; conduct employee performance evaluations and directs work activities.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- A degree in Business Administration or a research related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience required.
- General awareness of federal budget processes and fundamental principles of project management.
- Solid Interpersonal skills, including the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing, build and maintain teams, and identify and resolve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate activities to meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, proposal/project tracking, and data analysis software.
- Prior experiences in the life sciences strongly preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.
- Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
- Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- This position is hybrid. Please note, the preferred candidate will reside in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) metropolitan area.
- The annual salary range for this position is $67,500 - $98,000. Actual salary will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
