Job Description

HJF is seeking an Intermittent Subject Matter Expert - Dissemination and Implementation Sciences to provide scientific and technical expertise in order to increase the dissemination, implementation and sustainability of evidence-based therapies. Provides review and input into specific trainings, supports stakeholder analysis and outreach activities, assists with program evaluation efforts, and develops toolkit materials.

This position will be in support of the Adjustment Disorder Research Program at USUHS.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews existing program content and provide input into revisions and updates from a health communications perspective.
  • Advises program staff and leadership on strategic efforts based on public health education models and behavioral change theories to disseminate research findings.
  • Serves as part of a team responsible for developing toolkits that enhance the implementation of evidence-based therapies. Provides input on toolkit contents, structure and formatting. Advises on adult learning principles. Coordinates toolkit development activities.
  • Communicates with staff working at various treatment facilities in order to identify the barriers to adoption and sustainment of evidence-based therapies at these individual sites. Works with program manager to develop tailored strategies to overcome these barriers.
  • Prepares and presents oral and/or written presentations on dissemination & implementation. Conducts targeted literature review and assists staff with development of course content, outreach materials, and other products.
  • Works with the program evaluation team to assist with the ongoing evaluation of various projects and programs.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Master's Degree in Public Health required.
  • More than 10 years experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of organizational objectives, office automation; ability to work completely independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to use sound judgment in solving problems; ability to coordinate many complex systems and programs at the same time.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of strategic communications processes.
  • Knowledge of public health education models and behavioral change theories.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a T1 Public Trust background check.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $50.86-$72.11. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.

Employment with HJF is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, which may include, but is not limited to, contacting your professional references, verification of previous employment, education and credentials, a criminal background check, and a department of motor vehicle (DMV) check if applicable. Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior approval of the Chief Human Resources Officer.
