IEP Management & Compliance
  1. Serve as the primary case manager for students at Helix
  2. Coordinate, and facilitate IEP meetings, annual reviews, and triennial evaluations.
  3. Ensure IEPs are compliant with IDEA, state regulations, and district policies.
  4. Maintain accurate and timely special education records and documentation.
  5. Monitor timelines for evaluations, eligibility determinations, and IEP reviews.
Student Support
  1. Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and objectives in collaboration with the Clinical and Academic Directors.
  2. Collaborate with teachers and service providers to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented.
  3. Advocate for student needs and appropriate educational supports.
Collaboration & Communication
  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for families regarding IEP services and supports.
  2. Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, therapists, counselors, and administrators.
  3. Facilitate collaboration among general education and special education staff.
  4. Support transitions between grade levels, schools, and post-secondary settings when appropriate.
Program Coordination
  1. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and problem-solving processes.
Professional Responsibilities
  1. Maintain confidentiality of student records and information.
  2. Stay current on special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  3. Participate in professional development and required training.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, School Psychology, Social Work, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  2. Valid state teaching credential, special education credential, or appropriate licensure, as required.
  3. Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and state special education regulations.
  4. Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
  5. Experience managing multiple deadlines and maintaining detailed records.
  6. Proficiency with special education software and student information systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Strong understanding of special education processes and compliance requirements.
  2. Ability to analyze educational data and develop appropriate recommendations.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
  5. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  6. Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
Working Conditions
  1. School-based environment with frequent interaction with students, families, and staff.
  2. Regular attendance at meetings, including occasional before- or after-school meetings.
