Do you want to work for a Championship organization? We have the job for you! The Miami HEAT Engineering team is seeking an Engineering Helper! Under general supervision, oversees the maintenance, operation, and repair of furniture, fixtures, basic electrical items, etc. Performs skilled and semi-skilled duties, including painting, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, and welding.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following are examples of the various functions required. The job requirements are not limited to the items on this list.
- Assist in the repairs of all bowl seating, furniture, and plumbing items, including toilets, sinks, water fountains, drainage pipes, and sprinkler systems
- Assists with replacing and installing all doors, locks, windows, and building hardware
- Assists in the repairs, replacement, and rebuilding of various items, such as motors, compressors, and ice machines
- Follow the preventive maintenance program, energy management program, and standard operating procedures for all machinery and equipment
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as painting, patching, re-lamping, replacing ceiling tiles, pavers, floor tiles, filters, and belts as required
- Record and log all work performed, complete work order slips, and compile all required reports in a timely and complete manner through the building maintenance work order system
- Operate equipment, such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines, or other light power-driven equipment
- Assist other Operation Department divisions to expedite event conversions, as needed
- Report irregularities, discrepancies, damage, loss of property, and safety concerns promptly to the supervisor
- Work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Assists co-workers in the Engineering and Operations departments with projects

Education and/or Experience
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of painting anticipated at the facility.
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations
- Possess any licenses, certificates, and/or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation system.
- Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the facility’s state.
- Possess building maintenance certificate(s).
