Key Responsibilities
- Accurately scan, file, and index patient-related documents including physician letters, lab results, catheterization and stress test reports, and other medical correspondence.
- Prepare and maintain patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to scheduled appointments.
- Process medical record requests from patients, attorneys, and third parties in accordance with practice policies and federal/state privacy laws.
- Manage incoming and outgoing fax communications, ensuring proper routing and documentation.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure timely record updates and information flow between departments.
- Maintain organization and confidentiality of all medical records and electronic health information.
- Demonstrate strong computer proficiency, including use of EMR systems, scanning software, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to patients, physicians, and outside agencies.
- Assist with special projects, audits, and compliance initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in medical office administration preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in medical records, health information management, or a similar healthcare administrative role.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and medical record release procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
