Job Summary:
The Heart Center Cardiology is seeking a dynamic and patient centered advanced practice provider (APP) to join our general cardiology practice in Opelika, Alabama. This individual would be highly motivated and work well independently.
Qualified Candidates:
· Completion of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program with appropriate certification exams
· Has, and maintains, current state license with respective board certifications
· BLS, ACLS certification will be expected to obtain upon hire
· Cardiology APP experience preferred and our practice is willing to train in cardiology as necessary.
· New graduates welcome to apply (preferably with cardiac experience and/or cardiology clinical rotations).
Position Highlights
·Outreach Role – Clinic: Opelika, AL within the Medical Arts Complex; Mobile Clinic: Travel through RV Mobile to Lafayette, Hurtsboro, Dadeville, Tuskegee, Wedowee and Roanoke.
· The Heart Center Clinic -Provide care to patients in clinic when not in outreach.
· Travel on our Mobile RV Clinic to mobile locations and provide care to patients. Driving the Mobile RV is not required, as there will be a driver available to you.
· Schedule is 8 hour shifts.
· Works closely with Physicians and other APP’s.
· Typical work schedule is 8AM - 5 PM with outreach being a set rotating schedule and only 7 times monthly in outreach.
· No call or weekends required.

About The Heart Center Cardiology:
· Our interventional cardiologist, Dr. John Mitchell, started the cardiac care program at East Alabama Medical Center in 1985 and The Heart Center Cardiology has continued to provide state of the art care in the Opelika/Auburn/Valley area and surrounding communities. We are a privately owned and locally operated medical group and have privileges at EAMC.
· In 2019, The Heart Center Cardiology opened a new department, The Chest Pain Walk-In Clinic, which is the first of its kind in providing immediate outpatient acute cardiac care. Our mobile clinic began in 2021 and has been providing cardiac care to outlying areas including Lafayette, Roanoke, Dadeville, Wedowee, Hurtsboro, and Tuskegee.
