An individual in this role will support the Legal Department by assisting with litigation, legal requests, and contract projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Integrity and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
- Experience with Word, Excel, and Adobe.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new things.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience as a paralegal or in a related area, ideally healthcare or insurance preferred.
- Associate's degree in secretarial sciences or business/office management, or certificate in paralegal studies desired.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review correspondence and legal requests; gather related information and documents; assist with draft responses.
- Gather and perform initial review of information and documents for litigation and other legal matters, including discovery documents and spreadsheet data; prepare summaries for review.
- Communicate in a timely and professional manner with other teams, as well as external contacts.
- Track deadlines; assist in maintaining department calendar and in meeting deadlines.
- Create and maintain organized files for the department.
- Timely complete projects to support legal matters and department members.
- Assist with legal research as directed.
