The Healdsburg School (THS) offers families an outstanding education for children in grades Transitional Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Job Summary
Our teachers are passionate about the power of education to transform lives and strive to promote the intellectual and emotional development of our students. The Healdsburg School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated full-time Math teacher for our middle school students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in foundational mathematical concepts, including Algebra and Geometry, with the ability to deliver engaging and effective math instruction to inspire and engage students in developing problem-solving skills. This position requires a collaborative approach with colleagues and a commitment to supporting the intellectual and personal growth of our middle school students.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and implement a comprehensive, engaging Math curriculum that facilitates active learning.
- Provide individual, small group, and large group instruction that meets the needs of the math levels being taught.
- Assign and assess a variety of assignments, class work, homework, and exams in a timely manner and update the gradebook accordingly.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust strategies and provide individualized support.
- Provide constructive and regular feedback to students and parents regarding progress.
- Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation.
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes critical thinking and academic curiosity.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to learning and student success.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and school events.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide activities.
Preferred Characteristics/Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
- A teaching credential or relevant teaching experience is required
- Demonstrated success in the latest teaching methods, educational technologies, and an ability to generate innovative curriculum
- A deep commitment to collaboration, teaching, and learning pedagogies and approaches, including - but not limited to - culturally responsive teaching, inclusion, anti-bias education, restorative practices, and differentiation
- Understanding of child development and the role of Social/Emotional learning in building positive, educational environments
- Experience within an advisory program is a plus
Salary Information
The salary range for this role is $62,000 - $97,000, and also includes a comprehensive benefits package with health, dental, and vision insurance, limited life insurance, and a 403(b) plan. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and organizational needs.
