What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Staff position at The Hawthorns Golf & Country Club?
Looking for part-time workers with the possibility for full time depending on performance.
Prior experience in golf course maintenance, or landscape maintenance is not mandatory, we are willing to train.
Qualified individuals must be team oriented. Typical work hours in season are 6:30am to 3:00 pm (Monday thru Friday) and weekends 6am to 10a. Starting Pay at $16/hour depending on experience with overtime available.

Our award-winning clubhouse is the social hub of club life and offers a variety of dining atmospheres for Members. Members also have access to an outdoor heated Junior Olympic pool, fully equipped fitness center with cardio, weight resistance, and free weight areas, childcare, children's playground, men's and ladies' locker rooms, and six outdoor tennis courts. In addition, they have access to secure private meeting rooms with the assistance of a personalized party planner.We are proud to offer our members a championship level, 18-hole golf course including a full swing green grass driving range, practice chipping & pitching area, a practice putting green and a fully equipped Golf Shop with the latest in merchandise and equipment. Our illustrious golf course was designed by the world-renowned Arthur Hills.The Club sponsors many social functions throughout the year including Romantic Valentine's Dinner, Ladies Luncheon & Fashion Show, Easter & Mother's Day Brunches, Independence Day Celebration, Music Under the Stars, Family Fall Festival, Father/Daughter Dance, Santa Brunch, Candlelight Dinners, and New Year's Celebrations just to name a few. The events allow our Members the opportunity to come together as a community, make new friends and enjoy activities exclusive to the country club lifestyle.

Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have transportation.
- Ability to work every other weekend.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Strong Communication skills.
- Have attention to detail.
- Prior experience in grounds maintenance and or Landscape experience a plus.
- Ability to work in all types of weather (heat, humidity, rain and cold).

- Duties Responsibilities include heavy manual labor involving equipment operations as well as general housekeeping of golf course grounds and maintenance buildings.
- Operation of grounds equipment as it pertains to the maintenance of fine turf areas. (Greens, Tees, and Fairways).
- Ability to operate string trimmers backpack blowers, and hand tools.
- Bunker maintenance (raking, edging).
- Landscape maintenance (mowing, trimming, pruning and hand weeding).
