What You’ll Do
- Performing and providing technical support for installations, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment.
- Performing planned maintenance checks and calibration and timely submits appropriate reports.
- Performing atmospheric monitoring and issuing Contractors Daily Permits.
- Assisting supervisors in changing technology and budget requirements.
- Maintaining effective spare parts inventory.
- Assuring compliance with all Company policies and conducting all activities safely by following Company policies, procedures and LTT (Lock, Tag, Try) requirements.
- Overseeing third-party contract workers to assure work is completed in a safe, timely and cost-efficient manner, and in accordance with all Company requirements.
- Hardware and software maintenance and repair for all plant control systems
- Maintenance of industrial Electrical systems and electrical Lock, Tag, Try - following industry requirements and company policy.
- Minimizing downtime and unsafe conditions by performing preventative maintenance.
- Maintaining I&E skills by attending training sessions and on-the-job training.
- Maintaining technical and administrative records, including prints and project reports.
- Supervising, directing, and training contract crews and participating in Safety Plans.
- Reading and understanding P&ID's
- Performing routine and preventive maintenance of Refinery production area equipment to ensure all systems meet operating requirements in all areas including safety, quality, productivity, capacity and reliability.
- Inspecting, testing, adjusting, and repairing electronic and pneumatic devices and systems used to indicate, record, and control.
- Providing instrumentation support for control valves, transmitters, analytical equipment, motors, motor starters, and other various instrumentation equipment
- Using hand tools, computers, calibration, and test equipment in daily activities.
- Troubleshooting and testing electronic circuitry and components to locate defective components using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
- Testing accuracy of flow, level, pressure, temperature, vibration and analytical indicators, controllers, and other recording devices.
- Calibrating electronic and pneumatic instrumentation, including transmitters, valves, and transducers to ensure accuracy within acceptance criteria.
- Documenting work performed, such as Found/As Left calibration and function test results.
- Reviewing/Redlining/Creating schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in instruments, analyzers, circuits, and systems.
- Independently support and optimize the I & E and reliability of the Borger Refinery Tank systems across the facility.
- Troubleshoot and resolve challenging equipment issues, lead major repairs and installations, and develop programs to enhance performance and safety.
- Plan and prioritize work schedules, guide operational improvements, and ensure all activities meet rigorous quality and safety standards.
- Review equipment designs, manage the implementation of new systems, and provide technical support to engineering and operations teams.
- Mentor Contract team members, share expertise, and drive initiatives that strengthen I & E integrity and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze data to identify trends and root causes, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Deliver clear communication and actionable insights to help the organization achieve its goals while maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-performing environment.
- On call duties for I&E and Technical issues.
What You’ll Bring – Required
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Hold and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodations:
- To climb up to 50 feet using both inclined and vertical steps/ladders and lift up to 45 pounds.
- To bend, kneel, knee stand and squat up to 30 minutes at a time, to sit and stand for prolonged periods over 2 hours at a time according to job demands.
- To work outside in harsh weather conditions and to work alone a high percentage of the time.
- To travel up to 100% of the time and respond to emergency calls as needed, work overtime on an as needed basis.
- To work with chemicals and bases and wear personal protective equipment (such as fire-retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
- To perform firefighting duties and work with hydrocarbons that are under high pressure and heat
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
- Associate's degree in electrical maintenance, Instrumentation or Industrial Electronics
- 4 or more years of relevant Industry experience (Refining, Midstream, Pipelines or Terminals) or Military experience
4 or more years of experience working with electrical power and components, digital and analog circuitry or OMNI flow computer
