Role Description This is a full-time, on-site English Teacher at the Upper School canpus. The English Teacher will plan and deliver standards-aligned English language arts instruction, including reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. Daily responsibilities include designing and implementing lesson plans, assessing student learning, providing timely feedback, and maintaining accurate records of student progress. The teacher will create an inclusive classroom environment, differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, and support students’ social-emotional development. Additional duties include collaborating with colleagues, communicating regularly with families and caregivers, participating in school events and professional development, and contributing to the school’s focus on place-based learning, environmental stewardship, and the arts.
Qualifications
- Strong instructional skills in English Teaching and Teaching, with experience engaging students in reading, writing, and critical analysis.
- Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Education practices, including curriculum design, assessment, and differentiation for diverse learners.
- Effective Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to create an inclusive, respectful classroom environment that supports students from varied backgrounds and learning styles.
- Relevant teaching license or eligibility for licensure in English/Language Arts, and a bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Experience with project-based or place-based learning, and interest in environmental stewardship and the arts is highly desirable.
- Comfort using educational technology for instruction, communication, and record-keeping.
