Job Summary: Responsible for ensuring safe driving of the community's vehicles (bus and van) and supervision of the residents during community outings or trips. The Driver will be responsible for cleaning and keeping the vehicle maintained, ensuring that the vehicle has all necessary supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide transportation to the residents for community outings and trips including medical appointments, banking, shopping, worship services, entertainment, and other miscellaneous activities.
- Run event and community errands as needed.
- Inform residents, community team members and medical providers of times of pick-up and drop- off of residents to activities and appointments.
- Call resident rooms for appointment/activity reminders, as needed.
- Use appropriate procedures to assist residents to minimize the risk of injury or accident. Understand the medical needs of the resident and how best to approach the resident to and from the vehicle and in loading and unloading the resident.
- Carry belongings, open doors, and caution residents on steps and other objects in their path. Open/close doors and load/unload walkers and wheelchairs.
- Assist residents in and out of the vehicle utilizing the wheelchair lift and/or stairs, if needed. Assist residents in wheelchairs during activities outside the community if needed.
- Knowledge of Utah traffic and highway safety rules and regulations, and of the precautions necessary to avoid accidents.
- Should have the ability to operate a vehicle in a safe, calm and professional manner promoting a safe living environment.
- Should understand and carry out instructions independently and perform work requiring good physical condition.
- Clean and service vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
- Report all vehicle repairs, and/or any unsafe or hazardous situations immediately to the supervisor.
- Record, update and make any changes to existing resident transportation appointments in the Daily Transportation Log.
- Maintain both a Class B and Class C driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Drop off and picks up all residents from destination in a timely manner.
- Perform other work related errands as requested such as going to the post office and bank.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information according to state and federal regulations.
- Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times in the care and use of resident and community property.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
