Experienced Wood-Fired Pizza Cook – Scratch Kitchen
The Haul is looking for an experienced pizza cook to join our kitchen team in Downtown Grants Pass.
We are a busy scratch kitchen with a strong, capable crew, and we’re looking for someone who can step into our wood-fired pizza program while also contributing to the day-to-day prep that keeps the restaurant running.
Wood-fired pizza experience is important for this position. You should be comfortable working a live-fire oven, managing multiple pizzas, reading the oven, rotating and finishing pies consistently, and staying organized during a busy service.
Just as important, we need someone who is comfortable working in a true scratch kitchen. Prep is part of this position. We make a significant amount of what we serve in-house, and we want someone who understands that good service starts with solid prep, organization, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
Experience working a full kitchen line is a big plus. Our ideal candidate can eventually move comfortably between pizza, prep, and line positions and work alongside the rest of our crew wherever they are needed.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has solid pizza experience, preferably with a wood-fired oven
- Can work confidently and efficiently during high-volume service
- Has real scratch-kitchen prep skills
- Understands organization, cleanliness, and proper food handling
- Communicates well and works as part of a team
- Takes pride in consistency and quality
- Is dependable and shows up ready to work
- Is willing to prep and contribute outside of the pizza station
- Has line-cook experience or is capable of developing into a line position
This is a good position for an experienced cook who enjoys working with quality ingredients, live fire, and a crew that takes the food seriously without taking itself too seriously.
