Brief Description
The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD (“The HARRIS CENTER”) is looking for a Consumer Services Coordinator to join our team. Under the direction of the practice manager and the team leader, this position monitors and maintains interest list for Long-term care Services and supports waiver programs in the Community Services Interest List (CSIL) application on the HHS Enterprise Portal. Home and Community-based Services (HCS) and Texas Home Living (TXHML) interest list for the area served by the Harris Center of Harris County, Interest List monitoring includes explanation of services and supports, adding individuals to the interest list, removing individuals from the Interest list, completion of biennial contacts, completion of transfer and counties changes.

As the largest behavioral and developmental disability care center in Texas, The Harris Center provides care to over 90,000 people and has an annual budget of over $300 million.
As part of its mission to transform the lives of people with behavioral health and IDD needs in the third largest county in the United States, The Harris Center provides a full continuum of services at 80 different sites across Harris County. Your Role In Action
- Maintains HCS/TXHML Interest list.
- Maintains MR Divisional Interest list.
- Provides information regarding the HCS/TXHML and other MR programs.
- Referred individuals on MR divisional interest list to for intake.
- Documents activities as outlined in the HHSC Local Intellectual and Developmental
- Disability handbook (LIDDA) Interest List manual.
- Attends required unit, departmental and divisional meetings, and functions.
- Adhere to the Harris Center and Unit policy and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned
What qualifications you will need:
- High School Diploma or General Education diploma
- Two (2) years of related experience.
- The person must have well-developed interpersonal, organizational, and problem solving skills, and be a team player with a desire to provide a high level of customer service.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and interact effectively at all levels within the organization.
- Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Should have the ability to learn and understand a variety of management information systems needed to effectively manage the interest lists and have the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of all work-related matters.
