About the Role: In this position, you will perform various duties with the concrete paving crew, including setting forms, vibrating concrete, concrete prep work. Some concrete finishing may be required.
Responsibilities:
- Perform laborer duties as directed by concrete paving foreman.
- Learn unique skills of the trade & be willing to provide input when needed.
- Keep a clean and neat work area
- Communicate with the foreman and other crew members regarding daily tasks to be completed.
- Be dependable and consistent in work methods, which includes showing up to work on time and ready to work.
- Use small tools and equipment efficiently and safely.
- Abide by all company safety and security policies.
- Attend jobsite meetings when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in concrete paving (flatwork) is required.
- Previous experience in slipform paving is preferred.
- Previous experience in concrete finishing is preferred.
- Self-Motivated individual
- Positive attitude and great work ethic. Must show willingness to learn and follow company standard operating procedures.
The job will demand long hours and some weekends. This work is seasonal , therefore no work is expected to take place during winter months.
Starting pay will depend on experience. The Harper Company is a union contractor, therefore membership in the local laborer's union will be required. Applicants must be willing to learn certain skills required for the position.
Applicants must be able to pass a background check and a drug test. Applicants must also be authorized to work in the United States and possess a valid driver's license.
