Position Title
Facilities Maintenance
Reports to: Director of Facilities
Job Schedule
6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
12-month, full-time, non-exempt hourly position
Summary
This position in the Facilities Department is primarily responsible for general maintenance tasks and maintaining the appearance of the school. The Facilities Maintenance worker will also assist with grounds maintenance duties and facility use set-ups as needed.
Responsibilities
- Performs general maintenance tasks around the school including:
- Empty/transport garbage.
- Minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.
- Drywall repair/painting.
- Cleaning as needed.
- Assists with maintenance of pool and Field House including:
- Sweeping/mopping tennis courts
- Washing pool deck
- Vacuuming pool
- Performs ground maintenance including:
- Landscaping by weeding, trimming, edging, mulching, etc.
- Leaf blowing.
- Removing trash from grounds.
- Set up tables and chairs for meetings and events.
- Removes snow from sidewalks using snow shovels or spread deicers.
- Operates school equipment or vehicles as directed.
- Other duties as assigned by Facilities Director(s).
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills to be utilized with team members, students and staff.
- Basic computer skills to utilize tools such as e-mail, Google Docs/Forms, etc.
- Ability understand and follow multi-step written and oral instructions under minimum supervision.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of/ability to learn standard cleaning methods and procedures.
- General knowledge of grounds maintenance and landscaping.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
Physical Requirements
- Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and perform repetitive motion for extended periods of time.
- Requires ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Ability to operate vacuums, scrubbers, power and hand tools, and other related equipment.
- Ability to operate tractor, lawn mowers, weed-eater, chainsaw, hedge trimmer, etc.
