We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Publications Coordinator to join The Harker School’s Office of Communication. This role plays a key part in producing high-quality print and digital materials that reflect the school’s mission, values, and brand identity.
Position Summary
The O of C Publications Coordinator is responsible for managing the creation, editing, design, and distribution of both print and digital projects. This position collaborates closely with the Director and Assistant Director to define projects, then works with both internal and external specialists to complete them promptly, ensuring that all published materials align with the school's messaging, mission, and visual identity.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate the production of school publications and digital content, ensuring brand consistency, clarity, accuracy, and high quality across all materials.
Collaborate effectively with Office of Communication colleagues and external vendors—including designers, videographers, writers, web specialists, printers, mail houses, and signage manufacturers—to bring projects to completion.
Participate in planning meetings with faculty, staff, and administrators to identify project needs, define communication objectives, and establish scope and target audiences.
Communicate regularly and professionally with Harker departments, administrators, parents, students, and alumni.
Write and edit website content, ensuring alignment with style and branding guidelines.
Utilize project management software, content management systems, and other tools to organize tasks and track project progress.
Additional Responsibilities
Stay current with industry trends and best practices; share insights and make recommendations to improve departmental effectiveness.
Uphold ethical standards and practices appropriate to an academic communications environment.
Required Knowledge & Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience with print and digital production workflows, project management platforms, pricing and negotiation, and cost-tracking systems.
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat Pro.
Familiarity with photo databases and CMS platforms such as WordPress or Finalsite is a plus.

Physical Requirements
Ability to communicate clearly in English in person and via phone.
Ability to sit for extended periods; reach overhead and horizontally; bend, kneel, or crouch to access files.
Ability to hear conversations, announcements, and emergency signals.
Ability to read computer screens and printed documents.
Adequate manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment (computers, printers, copiers, phones, etc.).
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
Possession of a valid California driver’s license and access to a working vehicle.
Ability to travel between four campuses and other work locations as needed.
Availability to work evenings and weekends when required.

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
