The Harker School seeks an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Part-Time Upper School Classroom Music Teacher to join our Performing Arts Department. This position is an opportunity to inspire and educate students in Composition and Arranging, Basic Conducting, and the Study of Music, a survey course that explores diverse musical traditions. The ideal candidate will foster both creative and analytical skills, guiding students to deepen their knowledge and practical engagement with music as a powerful medium for artistic expression.
A strong background in music history and literature, theory fundamentals, composition and arranging, and conducting. Knowledge of both Western classical and world music traditions. Advanced piano skills Experience working with high school students with a wide spectrum of music experience in an academic setting.
Responsibilities:
- Teach upper school music courses, including Composition, Conducting, and Study of Music.
- Engage and support students with varying levels of musical experience
- Communicate complex musical concepts effectively and inspire students in their musical growth
- Advising Piano Certificate students

Salary : $55,000 - $75,000
