We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dock Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our dock. This position requires mechanical knowledge and the ability to rig equipment safely and effectively. As a Dock Hand, you will be responsible for various tasks that contribute to the overall functionality of our operations. Strongly seeking applicants with availability Monday-Friday daytime hours.
Responsibilities
- Assist in fueling vessels.
- Safely and securely tie down vessels.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on dock equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate docking schedules and logistics.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Monitor weather conditions and report any potential hazards that may affect operations.
- Document daily activities and report any issues or discrepancies to supervisors.
Experience
- Proven experience in a dock or warehouse environment is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge is essential for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Familiarity with tying vessels down and safely landing them.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
