The Happy Mixer Gluten Free Bakery is looking for an experienced Head Baker to join our team at our Wayne location.
We're a family-owned bakery with a pretty special purpose: creating delicious baked goods that allow people who are gluten free to walk into a bakery and choose from an entire case of treats they can actually eat.
We love what we do, we love the community we serve, and we're looking for an experienced baker who would love being part of it too.
This is a full-time, hands-on baking position beginning at 2:00 AM. While we're looking for someone who already knows their way around a bakery, gluten free baking experience is not required. We have established recipes, production schedules and systems that we'll teach you. You bring the baking experience, and we'll teach you the gluten free part!
What You'll Do
As our Head Baker, you'll take the lead on the daily bake at our Wayne shop. You'll:
- Bake our breads, donuts, cookies, brownies, cakes and other bakery favorites
- Mix doughs, batters and fillings using our established recipes
- Organize daily production and make sure everything is baked and ready on time
- Maintain the quality and consistency our customers expect
- Work alongside and help guide other members of the baking team
- Keep the bakery clean, organized and food-safe
Who We're Looking For
Previous professional baking experience is required.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience in a commercial bakery, production bakery, pastry kitchen or similar professional environment
- Has a solid understanding of baking techniques and production
- Is dependable, organized and punctual
- Can confidently manage a daily production schedule
- Takes pride in quality and consistency
- Can lift up to 50 pounds and remain on their feet throughout the shift
The Schedule
- Full-time, year-round position
- 2:00 AM start time
- Finished by late morning — no late nights!
- Consistent weekly schedule
- Two consecutive days off each week
Pay & Benefits
- $19.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience
