Food Prep Cook

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook to join our culinary team. Responsibilities

• Prepare and chop ingredients such as vegetables, meats, and herbs according to recipes and menu specifications.
• Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, slicers, and food processors.
• Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of meals for catering events or restaurant service.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed to maintain stock.
• Follow proper food handling procedures to minimize waste and ensure quality standards are upheld.

Experience

• Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations is essential.
• Experience in food service or catering environments is a plus.
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques are highly desirable.
• A passion for the culinary arts and a willingness to learn new skills within the food industry will be beneficial for success in this role.
