Special Education Teacher – Computer Science
Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate Computer Science and Technology Teacher to join our team. The
teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging technology instruction to K–12 students in a
supportive special education environment, meeting instructional goals, and adhering to
professional standards and school policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a dynamic computer science curriculum aligned with student
IEPs and grade-level expectations
- Utilize educational technology, coding platforms, and assistive tools to enhance student
learning and digital literacy
- Foster a classroom culture that promotes safety, respect, and accessibility
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs
- Collaborate with staff to support students’ academic, social, and functional goals
- Participate in professional development and required school meetings
- Serve as a positive role model for students and staff
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all school policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Valid New York State Teacher Certification in Special Education or Students with
Disabilities (K-6 or 7–12) preferred
- Certification or background in Computer Science, Technology Education, or Educational
Technology preferred
- Knowledge of curriculum and strategies for supporting learners
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated integrity, ethical behavior, and commitment to student success
Starting Salary:
$52,288 - $72,056
