The Director of Institutional Advancement reports directly to the President and is a strategic leader responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and securing philanthropic support to advance the Project’s mission and goals. The Director of Institutional Advancement oversees and drives all aspects of advancement, including fundraising, donor relations, and PR communications. This role requires a dynamic and experienced professional with a passion for cultivating relationships and driving organizational growth.
This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary range is $75,000 to $115,000 a year, depending on experience. Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies to meet the Project’s Annual Giving Goals for individuals, parishes and schools, including:
- Planning and executing four online fundraising campaigns annually.
- Maintaining frequent, consistent and active engagement with current supporters.
- Building new relationships and identifying new avenues of support to create growth in line with the Project’s strategic goals.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive planned giving program, including marketing, donor identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship.
- Support senior leadership with major gifts and capital campaign fundraising as needed, including by developing promotional materials, making presentations and participating in donor meetings.
- Manage and execute donor communications for the Project, including the Project’s website, email marketing, quarterly print newsletters, Annual Report, brochures, and any other fundraising communications or collateral that may be necessary to achieve the Project’s goals.
- Develop and execute in-person and virtual events, and recruit and coordinate volunteers to support them.
- Guide and support the fundraising activity of the Development Committee, and the Board as necessary.
- Assist in communications with the Board as required.
Requirements:
- This position is full-time on site at THP’s headquarters in North Kingstown, RI.
- This position requires extended hours, including evenings and weekends during key initiatives and as needed.
- This position requires a strong, independent and proactive drive to achieve the development and networking activity of the Project.
- Travel is required, both domestic and international.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least three years of development or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Project’s mission and charism.
- Knowledge of the Catholic Church and Catholic Social Teaching.
- Strong interpersonal skills; desire and ability to actively and regularly communicate with people.
- Strong initiative and follow-through; ability to proactively push strategic goals and work forward.
- Ability to manage, monitor and report on projects, initiatives, goals and analytics.
- Strong organizational, time-management, problem-analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent oral & written communications skills.
Salary : $75,000 - $115,000
