Teacher Aide/Assistant 10-Month

10-month Per Diem Positions:

Includes working 10-month academic year

This is an EXCITING and REWARDING opportunity to work in the field of special education and collaborate with teachers, other teacher aides/assistants and therapists. Great for college students or high school graduates seeking an academic school experience with special needs children. School year follows most school districts’ calendars.

Per Diem staff schedules:

• Full-day position (hours/8:25 AM-2:40 PM) a minimum of 2 days per week
• Must choose from scheduled days determined by HLVS Administration
• Partial-day position: 5 days per week or Mon-Tues-Wed (hours/11:00 AM- 1:30 PM or 11:00 AM-2:40 PM)

Salary:

• $18.00 to $19.50 per hour

Qualifications:

• Must be a caring, compassionate person who is eager to work with 3-12 year-old students with developmental disabilities in a small (i.e., 6-12 students) classroom environment. Duties include working on social, emotional and academic development of students, and assisting children with personal care.
• Special Education classroom experience a plus.

• Must be able to handle children weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Initial medical exam is required.
• Background clearances are required.
