The Personal Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality one-on-one strength training sessions to adults over 40 in a private, appointment-based training environment.
This role focuses on teaching safe and effective strength training, building long-term client relationships, and helping clients improve strength, mobility, confidence, and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities• Conduct 50-minute one-on-one personal training sessions
• Guide new clients through The Gym Venice onboarding process, including movement assessments and foundational strength training instruction
• Teach and coach fundamental movement patterns including squatting, hinging, pushing, pulling, carrying, and core stabilization
• Modify exercises appropriately based on injury history, mobility limitations, and individual ability
• Track client progress and communicate program updates
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional training environment
• Deliver an exceptional client experience that encourages long-term retention
• Participate in team meetings, continuing education, and internal training systems
Qualifications• Current nationally recognized personal training certification (ISSA, NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent)
• CPR/AED certification
• Strong understanding of strength training principles and exercise technique
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Reliable, punctual, and highly accountable
• Ability to build trust with clients of varying fitness levels
Preferred Qualifications• Experience coaching adults over 40
• Degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field
• Functional Aging Specialist, Corrective Exercise, or similar advanced certifications
• Experience working with clients recovering from injury or managing chronic conditions
