The Guzzardo Partnership, Inc. is looking for an energetic project manager to join our dynamic and exciting workplace in San Francisco, CA.
Role Description
As a project manager in the firm you will be asked to actively manage project work within the office. The ideal candidate would have a firm grasp of conceptual design and have the ability to work and communicate with collaborators to aid in the stakeholder decision making process. Candidates should also have a strong knowledge of landscape construction and detailing, as well as the ability to generate planning and construction documentation sets. An understanding of landscape construction materials and California plants and adapted species is a requirement. Understanding of the public approval processes in the San Francisco Bay Area is a plus. This role will require the ability to synthesize project work into tasks that can be delegated to office landscape designers. Strong communication skills are required to verbally manage staff and provide on-going assistance to them as the project develops. Those communication skills are also needed to collaborate with outside consultants, city staff members and occasionally clients. The ability to multi-task, maintain deadlines and quality of deliverables is critical. You will work closely with senior level office members and provide design assistance and insights on project requirements as they evolve. You will be asked to quickly learn office standards and practice for direct implementation into project work. Qualifications
· BSLA, BLA, MLA Required
· 5-8 years working in a landscape architecture design studio required, experience working in the Bay Area preferred.
· Authorized to work in the United States required (H1B/Green Card, Current Citizen)
· Proficient using AutoCAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam and Adobe Suite required. Revit knowledge is a plus
· California Plant material knowledge required
· Construction material knowledge required
· Ability to project manage including:
· Coordination with outside consultants
· Understanding of Planning Documentation and Construction Documentation
o Understanding of project layout, fine grading, planting and construction detailing as pertains to construction documentation
· Attend Project Coordination meetings with ownership and various consultants
· Synthesize project related tasks for dissemination to office landscape designers
· Actively manage office landscape designers for a given project and maintain deadlines and deliverables
· Work closely with Senior Level office members on project requirements and provide design assistance
· Multi-task between several projects at any time
· Excellent graphic communication skills, including but not limited to hand drawing and/or digital. Must be able to toggle between 2D and 3D settings
· Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to describe design ideas and engage in project related dialogue
· Ability to self-motivate with exceptional time management skills to deal with fast paced, deadline driven environment and multi-tasking
· Excellent written communication skills for both internal and external project communication
