Primary Job Responsibilities
- Assesses condition by monitoring vital signs; recording intake and output; reviewing care notes and medical changes; keeping family informed
- Administers treatments by dispensing medications and assisting with personal or medical equipment
- Safely transport Individuals to various medial and therapy appointments
- Records information by making entries as directed; notifying The Guild nursing supervisor of changing or unusual conditions
- Help Individuals care for themselves by introducing and teaching assisted living techniques, such as using a cane or walker, using special utensils to eat, using special techniques and equipment for personal hygiene needs
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment by following asepsis standards and procedures; changing linens, maintaining kitchen and bathroom facilities, handling personal laundry; maintaining security
- Provides nutritious meals by following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards; preparing, cooking, and serving meals and snacks.
- Maintain resident confidentiality by following HIPPA guidelines
- Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job including inclement weather situations
- Physical and mental capacity to work in stressful situations and de-escalate individuals who have limited cognition and complex needs
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is an essential function of the job
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Pass Guild Driving test to access Guild vehicles for transportations of individuals
- Must be able to implement crisis intervention techniques as necessary, including Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (via certification through CPI)
- Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant proof (CNA) current and maintenance of.
- Attention to detail and time management skills
- Interpersonal skills with respect to residents, family members, and team
- Must meet Massachusetts background record check requirements
- Valid Driver’s License
