What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at The Guidance Center?
Job Overview: Retrieving Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), work with Third Party (RCMS) posting team to see all commercial insurance payments are correctly posted. Occasionally communicates with clients regarding questions about Outpatient services and the billing statements they may receive. Also working with Third Party (RCMS) billing team on Managed Care (ICWC) client claims, checking/updating eligibility and authorizations for ICWC and communicate with clients regarding their insurance eligibility as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Retrieving insurance EOBs
- Running credit card payments for insurance payments
- Upload insurance EOBs to eBridge for RCMS posting team to post payments
- Identify and resolve client billing problems and/or inquiries by phone or written correspondence.
- Assist and support other Finance staff/RCMS Teams with 837 billings, ICWC authorizations, payment posting and other special projects or requests.
- Review ICWC client claims, including reviewing and processing rejections, denials, renewing authorizations, and contacting clients for appropriate information regarding their insurance coverages.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
- Provide data to RCMS Batching/Billing Team when claims are ready to batch/bill
Education and Experience:
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent
- 3-5 years of billing and coding experience preferred
- Computer literate
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word
- Ability to communicate with other staff and clients
